
HMS Band
Marching Warriors

Horn Line
The HMS Horn Line consists of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade instrumentalists and includes the following instruments: flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba. Horn Line positions are open to any student and do not require an audition. Each student is responsible for renting or purchasing an instrument that is approved by the director.
Drum Line
Positions on the HMS Drum Line are available by audition only and are open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The Drum Line consists of the following percussion instruments: 3 Snare, 1 Tenor, 1 Quad, and 3 Basses. Each student is responsible for renting or purchasing a beginning band percussion kit that includes a concert snare and bells.
Guard
The HMS Gaurd consists of a flag corp and dancers. Positions in the Guard are available by audition only and are open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Haywood Elementary music teacher Mrs. Patricia Gaietto coaches the HMS Guard.

HMS Band and Guard
Marching Warrior Band
The Marching Warrior Band performs at various parades in the area. In 2014 the Warrior Band was awarded 1st place in its division at the annual Strawberry Festival Parade in Humboldt, TN.
HMS Concert Bands
The HMS Concert Bands include a Beginning Band for first year players and an Intermediate Band for second and third year players. Both groups meet during scheduled class times during the school day. Any interested students should see the director to enroll. The bands (separately or combined) perform at a variety of events throughout the school year with the highlights being a Chirstmas Concert and a Spring Fine Arts Night Concert. Positions in the beginning band are open to any 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Horn players in ether of the concert bands may participate in the Marching Warrior Band. Percussionists must audition for positions in the Marching Warrior Drum Line.
